Hi,
I am Josh Holden and I am your Clubs and Societies Representative this year.
Clubs and Societies provide a unique opportunity for students to engage with like minded individuals and work together to raise the profile of a part of their life they are passionate about into an organisation they can be proud of. They provide the basis for making new friends and enjoying a part of university that is essentially yours to make with it what you want. Being part of one of the various clubs or societies is a great way to expand your social network, and the skills you gain in running one are skills you will use and value for the rest of your life! One of my main aims this year is to help every member of the various clubs and societies turn their passion into a self sustaining and well run organisation, in order for it to benefit the wider student community as much as possible. This will be done with the implementation of the new University Forum System as well as great fund raising opportunities I have organised within our great student community in Liverpool. As a Union we really want to give you, the students, as much of a say in how your union and its various campaigns, activities and clubs are run. We also want to work with the university to ensure that the contribution you make to our Liverpool Hope community through your Clubs and Societies work is recognised and appreciated, and we will do all we can to make sure this is the case!
If you are interested in joining a club or society, or if you can’t find anything you are looking for and would like more information on starting your own club or society, please feel free to email me on clubsocrep@hope.ac.uk, or find me on campus!
