Liverpool Hope University Volunteering and Work Experience Fair
Tuesday 6th December
2011 11.00am – 3.00pm

I am writing to invite you to attend the Annual Volunteering Fair which is being held on Tuesday
6th December 2011 at Liverpool Hope University, in the Sports Hall.

Liverpool Hope University is a passionate supporter of volunteering and the role it plays in
society. In particular the careers department recognises that volunteering offers students a superb opportunity to develop a range of skills and experiences which will be invaluable in their future careers. Given this we support long term commitment to volunteering projects from our students during their time at university.

With this in mind Liverpool Hope University is proud to offer students our Service and Leadership
Award. The Service and Leadership Award was launched in September 2008 and is closely linked to the work of the University’s overseas educational activity, Global Hope. The award builds upon over 25 years of engaging staff and students as volunteers with Hope’s community partners, both local and overseas. The award is an extra-curricular programme and has been designed to recognise the value of service work and provides students with appropriate preparatory, reflective and leadership training. The Service and Leadership Award promotes global citizenship and is a way of engaging students with issues of social justice. It is a direct enhancement to a degree and is suitable for students who want to make a difference to society.

We will be marketing this fair to our entire student body and also using our contacts at John
Moores and the Liverpool Guild of Students to inform their students about this event.

The event will begin at 11:00am (10:30am set up) and conclude at 3:00pm. There is no charge for attending this event. If you would like to attend please complete the attached form and return in to me so we can allocate spaces. If you have any questions or queries please feel free to give me a call.
